Solitaire and Tic-Tac-Toe now playable right in Google Search

“You kids don’t know how good you have it. Back in my day we had to play Spider Solitaire, and we liked it! We didn’t have all these newfangled browser games!”

Welcome to the future! Now you can play two of the oldest time-wasters of all time, Solitaire and Tic-Tac-Toe, just by doing a Google search. You can test it out by just navigating to Google’s homepage and searching for either “solitaire” or “tic tac toe” without the quotes. This will bring up a playable game right in your browser that you can click on and play to your heart’s content, and it works either on your desktop or on your mobile phone via the Google app.

There’s not much more to it than that- instant Solitaire! In this day and age when you can play games like Quake in your web browser, it’s hard to get too excited about one of the simplest and most frustrating card games. But still, there’s something to it… and to be totally honest this article took longer to be filed because the author got sucked right back into it. One day he will beat the hard difficulty…

Along with these games Google has also revealed a couple of other new fun things to search for. Try asking Google what sound a cow makes and you will be rewarded. It works for many other animals, although sadly the fox is absent. Google also now allows you to search “flip a coin” to do just that. Perfect if you want to settle a bet.

This gets added on to lots of other fun Google Easter eggs, such as searching for “do a barrel roll,” or “askew,” or “answer to life, the universe, and everything.”
