Gaming on the powerful Intel re i7 Extreme Edition

PC gaming has been taken to the maximum thanks to the Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition. PC elitists and multi-taskers will love what it offers.

PlayTech kindly allowed me to go hands-on with this beast of a machine/processor and it delivers in a huge way. If you want to play games to their maximum settings, the Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition is able to handle anything with ease.

I had a chance to test out three games on the machine. They included Gears of War 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider and DOOM. I've played the former two on Xbox One before while DOOM was a new experience for me.

Gears of War 4's campaign and Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One run at 1080p and 30fps. The Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition was easily able to output both games at a stable 60fps and at a much higher resolution than 1080p.

Not only did both games look very pretty, they also loaded pretty fast. While I was gaming on Ultra settings, I didn't see any lag and the PC was able render everything at a fast pace.

The Ultra settings looked very pretty and you need to have a great monitor in order to get the best out of the graphics. I still like the graphics that my Xbox One can do, although gaming on a PC something else.

DOOM was probably a bigger change for me in terms of the frame-rate. As a console exclusive gamer, I'm only used to frame-rates between 30fps to 60fps. The Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition output DOOM at frame-rates close to 120fps.

Gaming at 120fps was silky smooth and it was very satisfying killing all of the monsters in DOOM. Again, the machine had no trouble at all outputting the game at 120fps all of the time. It's something you have to see for yourself as words cannot describe how smooth it was.

I was also told that the machine is great for those that multi-task. You could be editing videos for YouTube while streaming something in 4K at Netflix at the same time and this machine won't have any trouble doing that. It is also a great machine to use if you plan on buying the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift VR headsets.

Bear in mind the Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition isn't cheap and only hardcore PC gamers with a lot of disposable income should look into this product. It's great to have if you have the money for it.
