Webzen – Korean developer undergoes restructuring and cancels projects

According to reports in South Korea, Webzen recently went through an “organizational restructuring” which led to the dismissal of around 80 staff (including subsidiaries), with the development teams unaffected. Webzen is preparing to launch the global Closed Beta phase of MU Legend, while preparing to reveal more details about C9 Mobile and Light Fall (PC MMORPG) later this year.

Update: Webzen has since reached out and confirmed there were no layoffs within the company. Development has actually stopped on a few projects, including Lightfall and C9 Mobile. All affected employees from the various development teams have been transferred to work on MU Legend and other new unannounced projects. The article headline has also been adjusted to prevent any misunderstandings.
