Large sinkhole swallows car in London

UPDATE: May 12, 2016, 12:04 p.m. BST The car apparently belongs to the brother of Abdul Ahmadza who was visiting last night and parked the car on Woodland Terrace. 

He told PA that he woke up at 4am, saw the car, saw the hole and went back to sleep. 

"Nothing I could do," he said: 

Metropolitan police were called to Woodland Terrace in Greenwich following reports of a sinkhole in the road.

There they found a dark blue family car, parked near Benefice of Charlton St Thomas' Church, partially sunk in the hole: 

A police spokesman said nobody was injured in the incident. 

People tweeted pictures of the sinkhole and reported that bus were on diversion.
