Why the Internet is going crazy over these $1,000 shirts

This DHL shirt is this season's hautest item, and it's selling off the shelves for a whopping $330.

Add that to the $1,000 remake of this Snoop Dogg tee from 1993 that's also going wild on the Interwebs.

No, this isn't a cruel joke. It's the current state of fashion.

Both steeply priced tees are from the Parisian collective called, Vetements, a company founded in 2014. The brand's creator, Demna Gvasalia, is heavily inspired by '90s nostalgia, streetwear and anything "ugly," what he described to The Guardian last year.

Vetements (pronounced vet-mahn) has since gotten so much clout super quickly, with every major celeb adopting the edgy aesthetic to their wardrobe.

When squeaky-clean Taylor Swift wanted a goth-like transformation, what did she turn to? Vetements sky-high boots, which she wore in this month's Vogue.

What did Disney star Selena Gomez wear to Paris Fashion Week when she needed some much-needed edge? A Vetements Champion sweater and matching sweatpants.

And when Kendall Jenner wanted to stand out from her family during a recent ski trip to Vail, what did the model wear? An oversized hoodie from the brand.
