Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, August 12 - 14. Super Good Advice!

Xur, Destiny’s weekend trader of Exotic delights, expert biographer of James Cameron, and notorious, stinking drunkard, is back. This week he’s in the Tower North, near the Speaker, throwing unrepeatable slurs regarding the Tower boss’ sexual health, and kicking empty cans around.

But anyway, what’s he selling? Well this week it’s 50/50 brilliance and crap.

• The Taikonaut – Exotic Titan helmet- 13 Strange Coins
• Young Ahamkara's Spine – Exotic Hunter gauntlets - 13 Strange Coins
• Starfire Protocol - Exotic Warlock chest armour - 13 Strange Coins
• Super Good Advice - Exotic machine gun – 17 Strange Coins
• Legacy Engram (Special weapon) - 31 Strange Coins
• Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins
• Glass Needle – 3 Strange Coins

Titans get the best armour, with the Taikonaut. Well, as long as they like using rocket launchers, because rocket launchers are what the Taikonaut is all about. It will add tracking to any explosion-pipe you equip while wearing it. It will give you more heavy ammo drops. It will give you more super energy from heavy weapon kills. Basically, if you can’t get enough of making things explode from quite a long way away, the Taikonaut is the helmet for you.

Hunters and Warlocks? I hope you like moderate increases to your grenade load-out, because that’s all that your armour does this week. Young Ahamkara’s Spine and the Starfire Protocol add an extra charge for Tripmines and Fusion Grenades, respectively, with the former increasing the mines’ duration too. Quite handy in the Crucible, that one, but neither of these things is really particularly exciting.

But the good news is that everyone gets Super Good Advice. Super Good Advice is great. If you don’t already have Super Good Advice, you should buy Super Good Advice. A (really) fast, close-to-medium range machine gun, it’s rattley as all hell - though you can mod it out for stability – but honestly, its shaky barrel really, really doesn’t matter. Why? Because almost every missed shot will go straight back into the mag. This means that you can basically just run its belt at your target and guarantee a near 100% efficiency rate, the speed of fire more than making up for the odd wayward bullet. Also, it doesn’t count Vex Oracles as enemies, so if you’re hunting those, Super Good Advice will let you do so for pretty much free. Almost every bullet will come back.

As ever Xur is around until 2 am PT / 10 am UK on Sunday, and which point he’ll vanish for another week.
