Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, April 29 - May 1. The Ram!

Xur, Destiny’s travelling weekend trader, hard-drinking bare-knuckle boxer, and crafter of intricate matchstick models of well-known global lamndmarks, is back. This week he's in The Tower, in The Hall of Guardians, to be precise. He's hidden Zavala's car keys for a laugh, and Zavala is furious. He knows Xur did it, but he just can't prove anything. Anyway, this week Xur s selling this lot.

• Twilight Garrison – Titan Chest Armour - 13 Strange Coins
• ATS/8 Arachnid – Hunter Helmet -13 Strange Coins
• The Ram – Warlock Helmet - 13 Strange Coins
• Hawkmoon Hand Cannon– 23 Strange Coins
• Legacy Engram (Heavy weapons) - 31 Strange Coins
• Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins
• Glass Needle – 3 Strange Coins

Titans and Warlocks are the big winners this week. The former gets Twilight Garrison, a natty set of chest armour that lets you dodge in mid-air with a double-tap of Circle or B, depending on your console of choice. Needless to say, that's a great fake-out in PvP, and a brilliant safety net when trying to quickly cross a hectic PvE battlefield under a heavy hail of sustained fire.

The Warlocks' Ram adds Life Drain - the Voidwalker perk that refills a decent chunk of health upon every special melee - to every single melee, charged or not. Getting it for free means that you can combine it with the otherwise incompatible Soul Rip (which part-fills your Super meter with every special melee hit) as well as Embrace the Void (which regens your grenade with every grenade or Super hit), in order to recharge your grenades, health and Nova Bomb pretty much any time you do anything. And it buffs your overall armour as well. With a decent base recharge rate on your melee meter, that's a powerful build indeed.

The Hunters' ATS/8 Arachnid, alas, is a bit pointless. All it does is add the ability to zoom while using Golden Gun, which might be handy is certain situations, but ultimately feels a bit superfluous given the heavy amount of target tracking on that Super as standard. As for guns, Hawkmoon is unfortunately nothing like as good as it used to be. The once notorious hand cannon has suffered more than most at the hands of Destiny's game-wide HC nerf, its brutal range reduced again, meaning that what used to amount to a pocket-sized sniper rifle with two-headshot kills is now just, well, a decent hand cannon, really.

As ever, Xur will be in the Tower until 10am UK / 2am PT on Sunday, at which point he'll vanish for another week.
